Care Instructions

Filling/Changing Ink Colours:

  • Unscrew to remove the barrel from the grip section and access the converter.
  • Place the fountain pen nib fully into warm water. Flush the nib by twisting/untwisting the converter until the water runs clear.
  • Allow 1 day to dry.
  • Fill a new colour by fully submerging the nib and feeder into the ink, then draw the ink into your pen but twisting the converter until you’ve reached the top position.


Notes:

  • For heavily saturated inks and darker tones, or clogged nibs, you may need to soak the grip/feeder in water overnight
  • It is normal for some air bubbles to enter the converter when refilling ink

A well built bean stalk

Finally, after the last episode, the next pen arrived with great satisfaction, from my perspective of a good writing instrument, material used was light, clean with good texture and feel, the medium nib is good to write with and it is smooth and not scratchy (Medium nib’s characteristic, perhaps). The length of the pen is suffice to hold by an asian hand even without placing the capping at the end of the pen. It is only a little odd to hold on the engraving on the grip. Lastly there isn’t a pen clip, due to the unique design. Ultimately this is a worthy pen to posses under the metallurgy collection.
